Day 352 Singapore Dec 31, 2007 - 21.50hrs

Last day of 2007.
Nicole has not been feeling well. Feeling weak and down at times, this part of our journey together is becoming a daily challenge for her.

We count on prayers and support to live day by day. I pray that she continues to have the courage and strength to continue taking her enzymes and supplements.

Looking back at 2007, we both feel that it has been a difficult year but we have been blessed by God - we are here today contemplating 2008 with hope because God has been with us during the entire 2007.

We thank all of you who have been and continue to pray for us and for your support.
May God bless you all and shower you with blessings, good health and many happy moments.

We also thank God for His gift of Life.

Let us live fully 2008.

Dec. 27,2007

Dear all of you who are reading my blog...hope you all had a merry Christmas..with lots of peace and joy in your heart.

We had a quiet one with only Greg and Elizabeth and Pascal...Maurice cooked a small turkey with the help of Elizabeth and Greg...I had the strength to dress the table and sit down with them all during the whole lunch....I had the Eucharist brought to me by one of our friends...it was a treat...

I'm feeling a little better these last two days...i guess my body took a little time to get used to the high dose of pancreatic enzymes that i'm taking now.

On Jan 14 around i shall have another CT scan and we shall know the effect of the enzymes on the tumor cells.

Right now I've put everything in God's hands...

For me, all these hard times I'm going through, are but God's ways of getting me back to Him...I'm a slow learner...Trust me only ..He's been telling me since last January...

When things go tough, i hang on to Him and when things are better ...I slowly drift from Him..

Well! Let's hope this time that i'm learning better and that I shall have the chance to really discover His immense love for me...from my heart and not from my intellect.

To really have a close loving relationship with God in this modern world is not so easy...we are so distracted by so many other things...so many...and what I hope is that I shall have the chance to know really what it is to love God with all one's heart and soul...

Please keep on praying for me and my family..it's a tough time we're going through..

Let's all learn to open our hearts to Him, to invite Him genuinely in our hearts so that He can heal us from whatever we need to be healed...from our past wounds etc. etc.

Our life on earth is for the other world...our goal should be to prepare ourselves for this other world...and yet we mostly all forget about it.

Thanks again for all your prayers...He indeed loves us all.

Love, Nicole

Day 344 Singapore Dec 23, 2007 - 21.47hrs

It was not an easy day. Nicole has been feeling weak during the entire day. She could not attend mass and we were planning for her to go to church to receive Communion but she felt too weak to do so. This is the first time she could not attend mass on a Sunday.

Tomorrow the husband of Maud will bring Communion for her.

We continue to have hope and faith. Only God, through the enzymes, can control the growth of the tumor. However, let it be His Wish and His Way.

We have been given the greatest gift - Jesus Christ, who came for us! the mystery of the Incarnation and the birth of the Son of God give both of us comfort as we travel this part of our journey of life.

We thank God for the precious moments He is giving us to be with each other, to just be in the presence of each other.

Praise the Lord for this day. One day at a time.

I was reading TIME -by Sir Lawrence Olivier

"Your life is an expression of your mind...
If your thinking is in order, your words
will flow directly from the heart creating ripples
of LOVE"

And if we believe that the Holy Spirit guides our mind!

Day 343 Singapore Dec 22, 2007 - 22.36 hrs

Another day ends. Nicole did feel slightly better but is still feeling weak. She continues to eat iron rich food.

The entire world is getting ready to celebrate Christmas. Tomorrow is the Fourth Sunday of Advent. We are waiting for the coming of our Lord. Such a gift from God - to save each and everyone of us.

Day 342 Singapore Dec 21, 2007 - 22.43 hrs

We received a good news today.
The blood test results show that there is a slight progress in the red cell counts. All other vital functions are ok.
This is indeed a break for us as Nicole has been having and is still having internal bleeding. Her red cell counts went downhill since we were in Mauritius. The doctors were concerned that she might need blood transfusions if the red cell counts reached a critical level.

We are indeed blessed by God.
All the prayers of family members, relatives and friends have been very helpful. Nicole, in spite of her weakness, searched through the Internet for iron rich food, inspired by the Holy Spirit. She ate lots of these iron rich foods: lentil soup, dates, figs, grape fruit and even water melon.

"Aides toi et le ciel t'aidera!"
God performs his work through us and this is a good example.
Instead of giving up and do nothing, Nicole had the strength and courage to continue to look after her health. Fortunately there is the Internet and Google. They allow her to find the information needed.

One day at a time. Praise the Lord.

Day 340 - Singapore Dec 19, 2007 - 20.47 hrs

The tumor has grown again and invaded the surrounding tissues which is cause for major concern. We are hoping that the enzymes prescribed by Dr. Gonzalez will work in time to at least stop the growth of the tumor. It is indeed a critical situation. We have to place our trust in the Lord - letting go and let Him guide us.
Every day is indeed a real gift. We are trying to live fully every precious moment.
