Day 847 Bad Mergentheim May 13, 2009 - 11.40 hrs

We just finished our meeting with Dr Demuth. The CA 125 is up from 107.2 to 141.3 or by 40%. This confirms that the mistletoe treatment was not working as seen from the allergy reaction of Nicole when she last had the mistletoe infusion.
Dr Demuth is changing the treatment to low dose of a chemotherapy drug - trofosfamide. This is administered after having reduced the sugar level in the blood to 30-40 range. According to Dr Demuth, this usually works in controling the growth of cancer cells.
The clinic is trying to get the drugs to start treatment tomorrow, If not then it will be on Monday. The treatment is followed by whole body hyperthemia, which increases the effectiveness of the treatment.
Of course we are disappointed with this news and set back. We take it as it comes, knowing that cancer is a complex medical condition and so much is still unknown. We are comforted knowing that the clinic is treating many cancer patients successfully. We see patients leaving this place in much better conditions than those when they arrived.
Finally God knows what is best for us. We are being asked to trust God.
