(Just a note to say that the earlier posts were by me and not matante Nicole unless otherwise indicated. Hence, to avoid any confusion I will be posting using my account instead. Think matante Nicole may pen some thoughts herself in the next few days. Let's hope so.)
After the biopsy of the tumour at her rectum, she managed to catch up on some good sleep and so did tonton Maurice in the afternoon. The moral was high and we managed to crack a few jokes too.
At about 3.30pm, she was taken to the operating theatre for the second biopsy of one her ribs which showed some anomaly in the X-ray earlier. At that point, there were two possibilities, a trauma caused by an old injury or the rib bone was affected by cancer.
At 5pm, the surgeon told both of us (tonton Mce and I) that the biopsy of the bone showed that the it was indeed cancerous. It was certainly not what both of us wanted to hear. According to him (speculative at this moment), the cancer may have spread to other parts. However, this is the completely opposite from the oncologist and the gyneacologist. Both think that they are dealing with two different cancers.
At 6pm, we got another setback. The primary results of the biopsy from the rectum showed that the tumour was cancerous.
At this moment, there is nothing much we can do, except praying. We can only hope that the cancer in recturm and uterus are indeed the same. This we will all know on Saturday.
Matante Nicole is spending the night at the hospital till tomorrow due to the procedure she has gone through today.
It has been a very tiring and stressful 2 weeks for tonton Maurice and matante Nicole and for the whole family. Maybe we should all take a break from this and forget a little about it tomorrow, Friday. I am not going to post anything unless the results come in earlier than Saturday. Let's recharge ourselves up a bit.
I think let's give tonton Maurice and matante Nicole a break and let them be together on their own for one day. No more calls ... Let's seize the day!
